Duchess Digital Pte. Ltd. ("Mapidoo") is a company registered in Singapore. We operate mapidoo.com and sell custom map posters as digital downloads, unframed prints, and framed prints.

2. Scope of This Policy
This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you visit mapidoo.com, use the Map Builder, or purchase a product from us. It applies to all visitors and customers, wherever you're located, though certain rights described below apply specifically to residents of the EU/UK or California.
3. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Name, email address, and shipping address (for order fulfillment and communication)
- Order details and your custom map design (theme, text, size, orientation, and similar choices)
- Any files you upload to personalize a design (e.g., a GPX route file)
- Messages you send us (e.g., customer support requests)
Information collected automatically:
- IP address, browser type, device information, and general usage data (e.g., pages visited)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 10)
Information we do NOT collect or store ourselves:
- Your full payment card details — these are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We only receive confirmation that payment succeeded, along with limited billing details Stripe shares with us (e.g., billing name, last 4 digits of card, transaction ID).
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- process and fulfill your order (including sending your design to Gelato for printing, where applicable)
- generate and deliver your digital download
- communicate with you about your order (confirmations, shipping updates, support)
- maintain accounting and tax records as required by Singapore law
- improve the Site and Map Builder
- send you marketing communications, but only if you've opted in, and you can opt out anytime (see Section 14)
5. Legal Bases for Processing (for EU/UK Visitors)
If GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to process and fulfill your order
- Legitimate interests — to improve our Site, prevent fraud, and maintain security
- Consent — for optional marketing communications
- Legal obligation — to meet tax and accounting requirements
6. Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal data only as needed to run Mapidoo, with these categories of service providers:

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
7. International Data Transfers
Because we're based in Singapore but use service providers based in other countries (including the United States and Europe), your data may be processed outside your home country. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers offer appropriate data protection safeguards.
8. Data Retention
- Digital download files: retained for 30 days after purchase, then automatically deleted.
- Temporary checkout files (created during the payment process): deleted shortly after your order is confirmed and processed, or automatically purged if a checkout is abandoned.
- Order and account records: retained as required for Singapore accounting and tax obligations (generally around 5 years).
- Marketing data: retained until you opt out or withdraw consent.
9. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies — necessary for the Site and checkout process to function properly (e.g., maintaining your cart, remembering your Map Builder session).
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — to understand how visitors use our Site so we can improve it.
- Advertising cookies (Google Ads and Meta Ads) — to measure and improve our advertising campaigns, including showing you relevant ads based on your visit to our Site (retargeting).
Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the EU/UK), we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
10. Your Privacy Rights
If you're in Singapore (under the PDPA), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- request correction of inaccurate data
- withdraw consent for optional uses (e.g., marketing)
If you're in the EU/UK (under GDPR), you additionally have the right to:
- request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- request a copy of your data in a portable format
- object to or restrict certain processing
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
If you're a California resident (under CCPA), you have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect and why
- request deletion of your personal information
- opt out of the "sale" of personal information — note that we do not sell personal information, so this doesn't currently apply, but you can still request details

11. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure storage practices and limiting access to what's needed to fulfill your order. However, no system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
Mapidoo is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Marketing Communications
If you've opted in to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us directly. Opting out of marketing won't affect transactional emails (e.g., order confirmations) needed to fulfill your order.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate (e.g., via email or a Site notice).
